Our Philosophy
MWNF Travel involves a new understanding of travelling that goes beyond traditional tourism, which tends to be based on the priorities and roots of Western history and culture.
On each of our tours you will visit many of the most significant treasures of art and architecture of each country. However, many of these treasures are known only to experts and do not feature in most travel guides or tour programmes.
Each tour focuses on a specific theme and is based on an MWNF Exhibition Trail, the MWNF exhibition format where instead of moving the works of art, it is the visitor who moves around to discover monuments, archaeological sites and artefacts at museums within their natural environment. Exhibition catalogues are available in several languages for all Exhibition Trails. They serve as thematic guides for individual visits.
The Islamic Mediterranean is the star of the MWNF Travel programme 2009 / 2010. Together with our local partner travel agents we have designed 14 tours that invite you to discover the milestones of Islamic history, art and architecture in North Africa, the Middle East and Southern Europe.
The average duration of a tour is seven days. All the tours can be booked for groups of from 7 to a maximum of 25 participants. Dates are flexible within the periods we recommend.
Price information relates to the periods recommended. Prices include hotel accommodation and breakfast, tour internal transportation, the services of a specialist guide (tour lecturer) throughout the entire tour.
Not included are international travel to the first and from the last destination, meals other than breakfast (except where specified differently) and travel insurance. For further details please refer to each tour programme.
Depending on the period, timing of visits may vary and some visits may be cancelled if closed.
